Matthew qualified in 1992 and has nearly 30 years’ experience in nursing exotic species both in the UK and abroad. He is interested in all aspects of animal health and welfare, but especially in exotics species in captivity and the wild.
Matthew helped establish the Association of Zoo and Exotic Veterinary Nurses (AZEVN) in 2016. The AZEVN is unique in the UK, being solely run by and dedicated to veterinary nurses interested in nursing exotic animals. Matthew has been assisting Wildlife Vets International (WVI) with their conservation projects around the world. Matthew has published and lectured on most aspects of delivering veterinary nursing care to exotics species from turtles to tigers.
